Nice to meet you! My Name is Qwan.

Welcome to the Company!

I am a published Photographer and Videographer located in the Maryland area. A majority of my work has been done in DC, VA  and Baltimore. 

​

'Qwan & Co.!' consists of one individual with the skillset of about four members.'

 

My relationship with Art and music has always played a critical role in my life. Growing up,  i was very shy and kept a ton of my interests to myself. Sometimes i'd build up the courage to share something important to me such as,  My love for House and EDM music, with a friend or family member. Since it was not the norm at the time , the responses i'd get were those of confusion and disinterest. That didn't make me feel good about sharing what i loved.

 

I copped by decided to keep the things i loved dearly close to me.  It became a rule of mine to NEVER share anything i genuinely cared about with anyone.  I didn't know this wasn't healthy at the time haha but it happened like that.

 

 The Expression of emotions has always come to me easy and as you might imagine,  expressing your emotions can be perceived as a  weakness. The awesome thing about it though, the medium of art and creativity, thrives when you become vulnerable and let your soul soar!

Once i got out of my own way - i began to see that it was okay that i was not the Best photographer. It was okay that i was awkward in certain setting because when i let myself create - every word, sentiment and feeling i felt could be felt by an audience. Conceptualizing ideas and bringing them to life is my strongest attribute!

 

This means i do not have difficulties constructing a concept, planning and executing that same concept. I suffered from the worst case of Imposter Syndrome and i didn't see a solution in sight for the longest.

 Now - i create the things i see in my head. The Conversation pieces, The Out-of-this-world characters with wonky origin stories. All of it! Begone the days of keeping them all to myself!
